SISTERS 2006

 

Grape Variety: 44% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24 % Malbec, 21% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc

Origin of fruit: Grown at Passage Rock, Edbrooke and Oneroa Bay Vineyards all of Waiheke Island

Winemaking: The 2006 Sisters was matured in approx. 30% new oak barriques, giving beautiful balance and richness

Typical flavours: lovely cherry spice and tobacco flavours, underpinned with cedar and cigar box oak

Nature of the wine: medium to full bodied, good appeal to most red wine drinkers

Food Match: Lamb, olives and tapas 

Alcohol content: 14.5%

Cellaring potential: up to 2010

The Earlier drinking Style  of Bordeaux wine from 2006 is fairly full and slightly developed in colour, its a flavoursome leafy spicy  firmly structured wine  with some oak complexity. Drink now to 2010.
