Selected from three Waiheke Merlot vineyards chosen for their individual characteristics, this Merlot displays chocolate & black cherry fruit characters with a complexity & intensity seldom found in a single site Merlot wine.

Grape Variety: Merlot

Origin of fruit: Grown at Passage Rock and Edbrooke Vineyards Waiheke Island Winemaking: Hand harvested grapes were Fermented in open top tanks with plunging 3 times daily and extended skin contact post ferment. Wine was then matured for 18 months in 40% new American and french oak barriques.

Typical flavours: Blackberry, chocolate, carrot, oak, leather

Nature of the wine: Medium-bodied red from an outstanding vintage

Food Match: Great with mushroom dishes or rabbit

Alcohol content: 14%
