Only ever released when the vintage allows, This wine is concentrated, rich & packed with ripe berry fruit flavours. Integrated vanilla oak flavours & a generous & embracing mouth feel. Forté will reward those who cellar it for up to 10 years.

FORTE 2004

 

Grape Variety: Cabernet Sauvignon (60%), Cabernet Franc (15%), Merlot (15%), Malbec (5%)

Origin of fruit: Grown at Passage Rock and Edbrooke Vineyards Waiheke Island Winemaking: Hand harvested grapes were fermented in open top tanks with plunging 3 times daily and extended skin contact post ferment. Wine was then matured for 18 months in 40% new American oak barriques.

Typical flavours: Ripe berry flavours, pepper, leather, vanilla, oak
Nature of the wine: Full-bodied, nicely integrated, outstanding vintage, one of our top wines, highly rated, good ageing potential .

Food Match: Red meats, seared Tuna, Venison

Alcohol content: 14%
