CABERNET SAUVIGNON MERLOT RESERVE 2008

 

Grape Variety: Cabernet Sauvignon 90%, Merlot 5% Cabernet Franc 5%

Origin of fruit: Grown at Passage Rock vineyard using newly imported bordeaux clones of Cabernet

Winemaking: following a long fermentation where wine temperatures reached 30 degrees the wine was matured for 15 months in mostly new barriques.

Typical flavours: Dark Berry, Spice and fruit cake, cigar box

Nature of the wine: Full-bodied with a long and promising future. Rich and concentrated. Plenty of weight and richness 

Food Match: Steak, venison

Alcohol content: 14%

Cellaring potential: Up to 2015
